Education and Experience:
Joseph E. Schmall earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Loras College in 1981 and received his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law, with high distinction, in 1984.
Bar Admissions:
Mr. Schmall is licensed to practice in the Iowa State Courts, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Memberships and Positions:

Mr. Schmall is a member of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Linn County Bar Association. He is also a member of the ABA Business and Real Estate Sections, the ISBA Business Law and Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Sections, the ISBA Real Estate Section Council, and the Iowa Supreme Court Commission on the Unauthorized Practice of Law.

Of Mention:

In addition to professional memberships and activities, Mr. Schmall is active in the Cedar Rapids community. He has served as President and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cedar Rapids Kiwanis Club, is a graduate of the Greater Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership for Five Seasons Program and is an active member of the Cedar Rapids Athletic Officials Association.
