Education and Experience:
F. James Bradley attended Loras College and, following service in the U.S. Army, received his bachelor's degree in 1948 and his law degree in 1950 from the University of Iowa. He has practiced law in Cedar Rapids since 1950 and, in 1981, was one of the founders of Bradley & Riley PC.

Mr. Bradley is
a member of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar
Association and the Linn County Bar Association. He was formerly
President of the Iowa State Bar Association, a member of the
Association’s Special Committee on Corporation and Business
Law, its Board of Governors, Chairman of its Scope and Correlation
Committee and was a member of the Bar Association Administrative
Committee. He has served as a member of the American Bar Association
House of Delegates, a member (as appointee of the Iowa Supreme
Court) and Past Chairman of the Iowa Client Security and Attorney
Disciplinary Commission, a member of the Iowa Supreme Court
Advisory Council, a member of the Iowa Supreme Court Nominating
Commission and of District Court Nominating Commissions and
is a Past President of the Linn County Bar Association.
Mr. Bradley received significant recognition as the recipient of the Iowa Bar Association Award of Merit in 1983 and, in 2004, received its Community Service Award in recognition of outstanding service to his community. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a Fellow in the Iowa State Bar Foundation and cited in the publication Best Lawyers in America for work in estate planning and probate and in corporate and business law.

Mr. Bradley was formerly a member and first Chairman of the Governor's Advisory Council on Iowa Social Services, a member and Past Chairman of the Cedar Rapids Airport Commission, a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation and its Executive Committee, a member of the Board of Directors of Discovery Living, Inc., of Junior Achievement, Inc., of Cedar Rapids Children's Home (now Tanager Place), of United Community Services (now United Way of East Central Iowa), of the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce and of Catholic Charities for Archdiocese of Dubuque. He is a Past President of the Cedar Rapids Area Advisory Board of Catholic Charities, a Past President of the Catholic Layman's Club of Cedar Rapids, and was a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Secretary of the Elmcrest Country Club. He is currently a member of the Cedar Rapids Rotary Club, the Cedar Rapids Country Club and the Mt. Mercy College Board of Trustees and its Executive Committee.
